Blog#3This Saturday was filled with cupid’s attack, followed by the soaring attack of our 11 Indian Javans in Adelaide, Australia on the Sunday. The cricket ground was transformed into Kurukshetra, everyone went feverish with the cricket flu having attacked them hard. The pulses were pondering high channelizing all our prayers for the India’s victory. The remarkable victory of 10-0 has made every one of us roar with pride.

After witnessing the spectacular win against Pakistan, our arch-rivals in cricket, the joy of every Indians have definitely multiplied. The legacy of the 20 years have been preserved, which makes us even happier. Be it for the war in the battle field or on the cricket ground when it is between Pakistan, it charges the vigor which always rises seemingly high. Emotions were reaching its peak right from the event of winning the toss till the last ball we caught which sums up the victory.

With the laptops, smart phones and tablets were all working parallelly along with the TV, and exchanging their views on Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, the world cup itself has gained a new gear. All of were thanking the almighty for the nice weekend we witnessed. The concept of “trolling”, and “sledging” took a new level in the Facebook, which even multiplied our joy. The impacts of social media in India vs Pakistan at Cricket World Cup are as follows

1. Knowledge Sharing

Not everyone is cricket-savvy, but what if we are constantly informed about various facts which make us proud and make us more engaging with the game. I am pretty sure, that all who were active in social media along with viewing the cricket match on television would now have a better clarity upon our players, their potency and even their class and style of playing the cricket. It has become evident that our knowledge on cricket has seemingly increased after this match.

2. Keeping The Pulse High

When being hyper is too main stream, we all needed an extra factor to elevate us. Needless to say, we were waiting for this great day right from the day when ICC had announced about the World cup. The “Meme Makers” were very busy by trying to troll all the important moments, and all the social media followers were also so equally busy trying to comment on the memes, and reposting our favorite trolls and memes. It was a nice moment as we could witness a lot of status changes within the six hours of the match. Needless to say the more crackers were inside our heart, displaying in its wonderful fashion, than that were found outside.

3. Showing Our Patriotism

I was so carried away by the comment that “3rd umpires are the reason for the India-Pakistan split in 1947”, Needless to say it wakes up our hidden creativity to add more fun-factor to the existing humor. India is divided by diversities, but united by Cricket. With our Prime minister too showing a keen interest, and tweeting his wish across all the Indian cricket players, it has certainly fueled the way we look at cricket. Be it for battle field, or in the cricket ground, Indians always want to be the winners.

4. A Reason to Celebrate

A gentleman’s game has now made us tremble with happiness. Even for the people who does not follow cricket, the inbox messages, Whattsup group forwards, Face book status and Twitter messages would certainly make them engage in cricket, even without their consent. The influence of the family and peers would passively make them also to join the celebration. After all it’s just a once in four year’s event. But what makes us strikingly proud is that, “We are Untouchables”, surely against Pakistan. Let the slogan slogan #WontGiveItBack becomes the striking reality this year.
